The fireworks take place at the Sydney Harbour, shooting up from the landmark Harbour Bridge, and lighting the harbour in colours. Vantage points include: Millers Point, Birchgrove, McMahons Point, Milsons Point, Mosman, The Rocks, Cremorne Park, Dover Heights, Point Piper, Rose Bay, Circular Quay, Balmain, Potts Point, Manly, Greenwich, Kirribilli, Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney, Double Bay, Pyrmont, Watsons Bay, and Darling Point. You can also opt for a gorgeous harbour cruise, to catch the fireworks up close, over the mirroring waters.
There are various vantage points along the harbour, giving a perfect view of the fireworks. Some areas open as early as 7:30am. You can choose between an exclusive ticketed venue or a free vantage point. If you are planning to attend an exclusive party, a dinner or simply partake in the celebration at a ticketed venue, please remember that although there may be alcohol available, BYO is not permitted and fines may apply. Metro Hotels has hotels situated conveniently around the most popular vantage points. Metro Apartments on Darling Harbour and Metro Apartments on King Street are no more than a ten minute walk to many of the harbour side viewing locations. Metro Aspire Hotel is close to Darling Harbour and Metro Hotel Marlow Sydney Central is located in the heart of the city, with easy access via public transport to Sydney Harbour.
