In October 2025, Metro Hotels proudly supported the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) through it’s Oceans to Outback fundraising initiative, helping raise awareness and funds for vital healthcare services in regional and remote communities across Australia.
The RFDS provides life-saving emergency care, patient transfers and essential health services to thousands of Australians each year, helping ensure people can access quality healthcare regardless of where they live.
As part of the October initiative, Metro Hotel Miranda supported local student Luke and his team as they took on an impressive 87-kilometre walk from Wollongong to Sydney. The challenge aimed to raise funds for the RFDS while highlighting the important role the organisation plays in communities across the country.
Metro Hotel Miranda assisted the team by providing accommodation and encouraging the local community to get behind their fundraising efforts.
Supporting initiatives such as Oceans to Outback reflects Metro Hotels’ ongoing commitment to corporate social responsibility and to helping organisations that make a meaningful difference in the lives of Australians.
Through the determination of Luke and his team, along with the generosity of supporters, the October 2025 fundraiser contributed to the continued delivery of essential healthcare services to people living in some of Australia’s most remote locations.
