St Mary’s Catheral was originally built in 1865 and has been the seat of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Perth for over 150 years.
The gothic cathedral has undergone three extensions throughout its life. The biggest began in 1926, and was only completed in 2009, making it the longest single construction project in Western Australia’s history.
The cathedral is located at the top of a hill in East Perth, at the centre of Victoria Square and is the most impressive place of worship in Western Australia. It is open for prayer and quiet reflection every day.
