Federation Square

Federation Square is one of Melbourne’s most visited attractions, with more than 10 million visits a year.  With major cultural attractions and events, tourism experiences, and a vast array of restaurants and bars, there’s always something going on at Federation Square.

What’s on at Federation Square

Visit one of the world’s leading moving image centres ACMI, and enter a world full of cinema, gaming, tv and digital culture. Hosting a vibrant calendar of exhibitions, films, creative workshops and education programs, ACMI is not an attraction you can miss!

The National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) is a celebration of Australian art, with close to 25,000 works of paintings, sculptures prints, photography, and textiles. Presenting the story of Australian art through Indigenous and non-Indigenous art from colonial to the modern era, NGV is great for any spectator.

Explore Melbourne’s picturesque parks, gardens, and ports from the water on a Yarra River Cruise. Departing from Federation Square, take one of the three best boating operators in Melbourne and experience an exciting range of sightseeing and function cruises.

There is always something new to experience at Federation Square. Keep an eye out on the Fed Square website for upcoming events, festivals and activities like the Silent Disco Walking Tour and the Thai Culture and Food Festival.
