Litchfield National Park is a very popular day trip destination from Darwin and Katherine and is home to several spectacular waterfalls cascading into crystal clear pools as well as magnetic termite mounds.

Litchfield National Park is a very popular day trip destination from Darwin and Katherine, however many prefer to stay overnight in one of the Park’s campgrounds.
There are many beautiful walks through the Park with information available on the NT Government’s Parks & Reserves website.

Facilities at the park include a cafe at the Wangi Centre, Wangi Falls, information signs, ranger station, 4WD roads, fire pits, public toilets, disabled access, picnic areas, caravan sites, accommodation, showers, walking tracks, souvenir shop and a telephone.
There are a number of general rules to follow when visiting the park, such as remembering there are no bins in the area, pets are not permitted, swimming is only allowed in designated areas and also visitors are to follow all fishing laws.
The park is approximately 120km south-east from Darwin via Batchelor on a fully-sealed road.
It is also accessible during the dry season via Cox Peninsula Road, which has some unsealed sections, and the 4WD Reynolds Track from Daly River Road in the south.
