Darwin Waterfront Precinct

Quiet and relaxing by day and lively at night, Darwin’s Waterfront Precinct is a sophisticated dining and entertainment complex with a man-made lagoon and wave pool, located just a short walk from Metro Advance Apartments & Hotel Darwin.

Things to Do

Restaurants and bars abound along the waterfront area of Darwin city. Offering a variety of cuisines such as Asian and fresh seafood as well as many options to just sit and chill with a drink, visitors can sit outdoors or opt for indoor air-conditioned venues.

Catch one of Darwin’s famous sunsets as you enjoy a cocktail or beer, dine on fresh seafood and soak up the relaxation in the air.

Darwin’s wave lagoon is a safe, stinger and crocodile-free wave and swimming lagoon covering 4,000 square metres. There is a shallow, still water area for toddlers and the lagoon depth varies from 2 metres at its deepest point with a slope to a depth of zero at the wet edge.

For those looking for some pampering, enjoy a luxurious beauty or hair treatment at one of the salons and day spas, find the perfect souvenir or just meander around the lush parklands and walkways dotted with public art and soak up the tranquil ocean views.

Getting There and General Information

The waterfront precinct is open year round with varying trading times for the restaurants, bars, shops and other outlets.

The wave lagoon is open daily from 10am to 6pm except on Christmas Day.

Note that the lagoon will be evacuated in the event of a storm involving lightning.

Darwin’s Waterfront Precinct is easily accessible from Darwin’s CBD and Metro Advance Apartments & Hotel. From the hotel, guests can take an easy 18-minute walk (1.4km) to the Darwin Waterfront Wave Lagoon.

There is a free shuttle service running the length of the waterfront area linking Stokes Hill Wharf, the Cruise Ship Terminal, residential apartments and various other Darwin Waterfront precinct locations.
