Sydney Writers’ Festival

Late April-Early May

The Writers’ Festival is run by the NSW Writers’ Centre, two to three times a year, bringing together emerging and established writers for a day filled with intriguing panels, workshops, discussions, book signings, readings, and networking. Join in on a celebration of literature, stories and ideas – and keep an eye out for the book seller and complimentary after-event drinks.

The Sydney Writers Festival events take place in a number of venues across Sydney, including the City Recital Hall and Sydney Town Hall in the city, to theatres in suburban areas, all the way out to the Blue Mountains.

How to Book

The Writers Festival is a not-for-profit organisation, providing a free service for a range of audiences. However, some events may invoke an entry fee of $20.

Note: Rates may be changed abruptly. For the correct price, confirm on the official site: www.swf.org.au/

How to Get There

The shows are scattered across Sydney, but easily accessed with public transport.

Metro Hotels: Where to Stay

The Metro hotels in Sydney city are the best way to experience Sydney, and access suburban sites and venues. Metro Aspire Hotel and Metro Hotel Marlow Sydney Central are conveniently located to transport, allowing literary nuts and book lovers to travel to suburban locations without an issue. Luckily many of the venues in the city are at walking distance from our hotels.
