The Sydney Film Festival runs for 12 days, and showcases the best in feature films, documentaries, short films and animations from around the globe. Forming an integral part of Sydney’s artistic culture, the event draws in the most dedicated of cinema aficionados and critics. Head over to the Art Gallery of New South Wales, or set-up for a night under the stars at the Skyline Drive-In Blacktown, and see the city in a whole new light.
The Sydney Film Festival takes place each year at the State Theatre, and in cinemas around the CBD – including the Dendy Opera Quays Cinema at the gorgeous Sydney Harbour, VR Lounge at bustling town hall, and Event Cinemas conveniently placed at George street, Cremorne, Newtown, Western Sydney and more. The Festival tours to 18 locations annually, taking place in selected theatres in Northern Territory, Queensland and New South Wales.
The tickets range from the $19.90 adult and $17 child Post-Festival screenings tickets to the Opening Night Film + Party package of $130. Flexipasses and a youth pass, for ages 18-24, are also available for purchase.

Book in at Metro Hotel Marlow Sydney Central, only a 10 minute walk to the VR lounge, and 8 minute walk to event cinemas. Metro Apartments on King are at a 22 minute walk from Dendy Opera Quay Cinema, 12 minutes to the event cinemas, and 10 minutes to the VR lounge, while Metro Aspire Hotel is 15 minutes from George Street Event Cinemas, and an 18 minute walk to the VR Lounge.
