Set up at Hyde Park South, in the heart of the city, the Sydney Morning Herald Cellar Door features the best regional wine and food – direct from the producers. With a multitude of food stalls, fine wines from over 100 regional wineries, and complementary smooth tunes, join your fellow cheese and wine enthusiasts for a nice warm day out in the park. Attractions range from the delightful castello cheese bar to a very unique and unforgettable interactive foot crush experience.
The event takes place at Hyde Park; a two section strip, boasting the title of “Australia’s oldest park”. In the southern section of the park lies our sentimental ANZAC Memorial building and visitor centre, while the northern section holds the gorgeous Archibald Fountain, encompassed by the equally spectacular Sandringham and Nagoya Gardens of the Royal Botanical Gardens. Hyde Park is adjacent to the Domain and Art Gallery of New South Wales, and a short walk from the iconic Sydney Opera House.
Tokens are purchased at the event, and the cheapest token of $5 will provide you with a tasting glass, while the more popular
packages will offer tokens, worth 30ml of wine pouring each. Bottles can be purchased but not opened on site, and glasses of wine cannot be taken outside of the area. Keep in mind that the token sales close an hour before closing and wine tasting closes 30 minutes before closing.
