The winter solstice is the longest night of the year (June 21) and marks the depth of winter, before the nights get shorter and summer eventually returns. But this year, it marks the start of Sydney’s winter party – which runs across two weeks and encourages locals and visitors to head to the city to catch live performances, culinary experiences and immersive workshops. The events will span from the urban laneways of Oxford Street and Newtown, to the CBD and waterfront of Darling Harbour.
